Top Reasons Why You Should Consider Living in Hernando County, FL!

When choosing a city to live in, there’s a lot to consider. From neighborhoods to entertainment to school districts, there may be a lot of factors that you’re trying to keep in mind at once.

Whether you are looking in Spring Hill, Brooksville, Weeki Wachee, Masaryktown, or other areas in Hernando County. Fortunately, we at The Weddle Group - RE/MAX Marketing Specialists, can help you find the right city for whatever you’re looking for!

First up - Hernando County! Here’s everything you need to know about the benefits of living in Hernando County, FL.

First things first - Hernando County is fun!

One of the best parts about living in Hernando County is the entertainment that’s just within arm’s reach. In Hernando County, FL, you’re sure to find activities that are fun for all ages!

Here are a few of our favorite pastimes in the area:

  • Weeki Wachee Springs. Ever wondered if mermaids are real? Well, you can find them at Weeki Wachee Springs! At Weeki Wachee State Park you can walk around the beautiful springs and you may even see a mermaid up close! With multiple children's activities, riverboat excursions, reptile shows, wildlife tours, and more, there is something here for everyone! Discover the enchantment of the area for yourself.

  • Buccaneer Bay Water Park. Right near Weeki Wachee Springs, you’ll also find the Buccaneer Bay, Water Park. As stated by the Tampa Bay Date Night Guide, the Buccaneer Bay Water Park is “a quintessential Old Florida site.” It is the only spring-fed water park in all of Florida! If that isn’t reason enough to visit, you can also walk over to the state park to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

  • Walking around historic Brooksville: There are tons of small businesses, boutiques, and restaurants in the downtown area of Brooksville. Take a walk around and check out the historic courthouse, or even a quick stop at the Hernando Heritage Museum. Grab a delicious lunch at the Main Street Eatery, or a coffee at Mountaineer Coffee.

  • Sunsets at Bayport: You only hear about this from the locals. Bayport is shortly past the commercial areas of Brooksville & Spring Hill. Just continue straight on State Route 50 for about 5 miles past the US 19 intersection. Do you have a fishing pole or a kayak? If you answered yes, this is a wonderful spot for you. It’s quiet and parking doesn’t tend to be an issue.

  • Accessibility to Tampa: The Suncoast parkway offers easy access to the wonderful city of Tampa, as well as St. Pete/Clearwater. You can be in Tampa in anywhere from 30-40 minutes, depending on your destination. County Line Rd, Spring Hill Dr, and Cortez Blvd offer hop-on-hop-off access to the highway. Do you work in Tampa and want to skip the traffic of 1-75 or US 41? This is the most practical option. Tampa offers so many opportunities for families and single people. Bars, restaurants, entertainment, plenty of shopping, and MUCH more!!
